Second annual History Fair held at Mosheim School with help of college's Museum Studies program
An effort that for some students began last fall culminated Thursday, Feb. 27, in a History Fair at Mosheim Elementary School. Projects by 216 students in 6-8 grades such as exhibits, essays, documentaries and dramatizations were judged in the History Fair, the focus of the school's participation in the National History Day program. The Museum Studies program at Tusculum College worked with the school to coordinate the National History Day activities, which received financial support from the Andrew Johnson Memorial Association. Projects, focusing on this year's national theme Rights and Responsibilities in History, were critiqued by 19 judges who included Tusculum College staff, Greene County School officials, and individuals from various historic organizations. The top displays and performances will advance to the regional event March 14 in Knoxville, which is being sponsored by the East Tennessee Historical Society. Those students whose projects will advance appear above with school officials and George Collins, director of Tusculum's Museum Program and Studies. (Tusculum College photos)
