Tusculum College drive collects school supplies for Holston Home

Resident assistants of the Charles Oliver Gray-East residence hall at Tusculum College recently organized a campus-wide effort to collect school supplies for Holston United Methodist Home for Children. Through their efforts, 656 items of school supplies are being donated to Holston Home. Above with just some of the packs of pencils, pens, crayons, paper, folders, supply boxes, and other items are the resident assistants, from left, Melissa Gladwell, Jennifer Nance, and Laura Lipe. The effort was also part of the "Pull Your Weight" campaign of Greeneville/Greene County's Promise, a program of the Volunteer Center, which on assisting local agencies to meet the needs of the youth that agency serves. A business, school, church or organization is given the opportunity to support an agency by hosting the Little Red Wagon, a symbol that has been adopted by the America's Promise program.
