It doesn't ring anymore. The ladies of McCormick Hall, pictured uselessly pulling the rope from the building's belfry, want their bell back. The bell was noticed missing early last month. "I always used to ring it," sighs Dee Roby, faculty secretary (top).

"We don't care who has it. We don't care how they got it. Just please bring it back!" begs Mitzi Williams, administrative assistant to the president (center).

"I miss the tolling. We rang it every time we went by," says Suzie Jones, office manager for external relations (bottom). "Send ransom notes to John Mays [senior vice-president for external relations]," she adds.
