Bye Bye Birdie, the spring production of A.C.T. (Actors Coming Together) is in the works in the Annie Hogan Byrd Auditorium. Above, Frank Mengel, technical director, works on setting the stage. Mengel, who is designing and constructing the set with designer Gary Renfield, says the look is inspired by a "comic book mentality," composed of flat objects and a palette of only ten colors. Bye Bye Birdie will be performed April 23-25 & April 30 at 8 p.m. and May 1 & 2 at 2 p.m.
