Community Chorus to Begin
Fall Season
The Tusculum Walters State Community Chorus announces rehearsals for its fall
season beginning on Monday, September 14. The chorus is open to all interested
singers. No audition is required. Rehearsals take place on Monday nights from
7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Room 46 on the lower level of the Annie Hogan Byrd Fine
Arts Center on the Tusculum College campus.
The chorus draws primarily on three traditions of choral repertoire: 1) sacred
and secular choral masterworks of great composers over the centuries, including
our own, 2) Christmas music, and 3) folk music of various kinds from around
the world. The Chorus presents annual winter and spring concerts, with the possibility
of other performances by special arrangement. David Hendricksen, Associate Professor
of Music at Tusculum College, is the director for the chorus, while Susan McNabb
is the accompanist.
All adults in the area who wish to be part of a choral ensemble aiming at excellence
in performance and repertoire are encouraged to join the group. Please leave
a message for David Hendricksen indicating your interest, phone number, and
voice part (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). No audition is required for membership,
but advance notice of interest is greatly
appreciated for planning purposes.
For additional information, contact Dr. Hendricksen at Tusculum College (636-7300)
or leave a message on the machine at 638-2195.
