Marilyn duBrisk honored by Greeneville City Schools after A.C.T. production
Marilyn duBrisk, at left, artist-in-residence at Tusculum College, accepts a plaque from Dr. Lyle Ailshie, who directs the Greeneville City School system.
The presentation was made during the May 7 penultimate performance of the musical comedy "Kiss Me, Kate!," a production of Actors Coming Together, or A.C.T. The plaque thanked duBrisk for her years of leadership of A.C.T., which was under the Arts Outreach umbrella at Tusculum College.
A.C.T., which brought together student actors from high schools in Greeneville, Greene County, and beyond, ended after the close of "Kiss Me, Kate!" because program advancements within the local school systems will now enable high schools to do individual productions, lessening the need for A.C.T.'s multi-school collaborative approach.
Visible behind duBrisk and Ailshie are some of the cast members of the final A.C.T. production. (Tusculum College photo)
