ONLINE PAYMENTSIMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT STUDENT EMAIL
Beginning now, student email accounts for current students will be converted from the previously-used SquirrelMail to WindowsLive.
With the move, Tusculum students.will now have access to more options and will have more flexibility with how they choose to access their email. With WindowsLive students will have access to 50 times more storage with the 10GB inbox and will be able to send attachments up to 20MB.
WindowsLive offers spam and virus filtering along with access on mobile phones or desktop clients via forwarding, POP3 and Outlook Connector.
In addition WindowsLive offers folder options for organizing email as well as a directory for Tusculum student email addresses. You will now have the ability to share calendars and contacts. You will still have access to the SquirrelMail server through December 2010, you should forward any important email from that server to your new account.
Any new email sent to your students.tusculum.edu account is now being forwarded directly to your tcstudents.tusculum.edu account. If you have anything associated with your old email address, like facebook, it is up to you to notify them.
New students addresses will look like "example@tcstudents.tusculum.edu" versus the previously used "example@students.tusculum.edu".
To setup the new email for Exchange access on a mobile device use the following information:
Username: user@tcstudents.tusculum.edu - your complete email address
Password: your student email password
Server address: pod51004.outlook.com
SSL is enabled
Domain remains empty
ABOUT YOUR ROAMING PROFILES
As a Tusculum student, you have a personal login called a Roaming Profile. You may use your Roaming Profile to access the Tusculum College networks in the computer labs on the Greeneville campus. In addition you have web-based folders in which you may store information and class work. These web-based folders may be accessed from any computer with internet access.
The amount of storage is limited so do not to store many images or any music. Use this online storage for your school work. Material not related to school work may be periodically deleted.
Professional Studies Students can use the same login (see handout studentuseracctsaccess.doc) to access the storage via the internet. Lab log in at Knoxville, Gray and Morristown will not change to personal logins yet.
All students now have a Tusculum College email account. Use the request forms to get your account information sent to you if you have an email address from some other source already. Otherwise, call the Tusculum College Helpdesk at: 423-636-7346 or on campus call extension 5346.
Use this account address for all college correspondence and for your courses. You are subject to the Appropriate Use Policy for the campus. Please be sure you are familiar with it. It is found at: http://www.tusculum.edu/is/labresources.html. You are responsible for knowing this information.
