Requirements for student workers are, a proficiency in using: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and a good working knowledge of Social Media video utilization. Student Worker must be a professional and effective communicator. Work Environment is a professional office setting; currently office is located at #307 in Niswonger Commons. Some presentation/workshop set up will be conducted in other buildings on campus. Work performed will be clerical in nature. Most work will be completed using a phone, computer, printer, scanner, and fax machine. Additional Requirements: 1. Student workers will coordinate schedules, so that one worker is covering, as many office hours as, possible on weekdays from 8am to 7pm, with as little overlap as possible. Each block student workers will establish set work hours to be in the office, to ensure best coverage of the Career Services Office. 2. Student workers will answer phone calls, in a professional manner and tone. Workers will assist with scheduling student, faculty, staff, and employer visits for Director of Career Services. 3. Student workers will assist with scheduling and set up for workshops/presentations conducted by Director and/or visiting Alumni/Employers. 4. Student workers will assist students faculty, staff and employers in utilizing the CCN database, facilitating registrations, job/resume postings, and answering questions about system for all users. 5. Student workers will also assist Director with entering data, compiling reports and assisting with preparing/posting data (word documents, excel documents, power point presentations, video clips from YouTube & LinkedIn, photos, etc.) into the CCN database and website. 6. Student workers will use honor system to document hours in writing for submission to payroll. Director will be visiting other TC campuses and employer work sites on a regular basis. 7. Student workers will enthusiastically support the work of the Career Services Office and Tusculum College by presenting a positive, professional appearance in dress, word and conduct. Preference will be given to Student workers who have prior experience working in a professional office setting; proficiency using: Microsoft Outlook for Contact Management: (Linked In, PowerPoint, Prezi, and YouLife) for presentation production and posting on social media; as well as, prior experience in database management systems.
