The Master of Arts in Teaching Degree (MAT) is designed for individuals who wish to become certified teachers in the area of K-6
and Secondary 7-12.

MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING

The Graduate Department of the School of Education has developed two new offerings at the request of local school districts.

The Post Baccalaureate program offers individuals with bachelor degrees in fields other than education to take the courses necessary for certification in teaching. Completion of this program will lead to certification in Elementary Education or middle and secondary school specializations.

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree is available to individuals with degrees in other fields who wish to work beyond the post baccalaureate and earn a Master's degree as well as becoming certified to teach.
